Introduction

Scottish Rock and Water will teach you how to stay safe with your partner on longer climbs for the most rewarding experience possible. The multi-pitch intro will give you the skills, techniques and knowledge to safely and efficiently, keep climbing. Focusing on anchor setups, stance and rope management to keep the flow and enjoyment whilst you climb some iconic routes. Having some previous outdoor climbing experience is desirable but not essential.

What do I need to bring?

  • A pair comfortable, waterproof walking boots or shoes

  • Quality, breathable waterproof jacket and trousers. Gore-tex or similar

  • Spare insulating layer

  • Walking socks

  • Walking trousers (synthetic materials; jeans or similar are not suitable)

  • Water bottle or flask

  • Rucksack 30-40 ltr

  • Hat & waterproof gloves

  • Lunch, plus a little spare food

  • Sunglasses & sun cream (you just never know!)

  • Waterproof case for phone i.e. zip-lock bag

  • Personal medications
