Introduction

Scottish Rocks and Waters advanced scrambling course focuses on fundamental skills needed to stay safe and look out for your partner on grade 3 terrain. Looking at rope techniques, stance management, transitions between moving together or pitching and how we recognise when to do so. All the while keeping these areas slick while maintaining flow in our movement, and our rope work.

What do I need to bring?

  •  A pair of stiff comfortable, waterproof walking boots

  •  Quality, breathable waterproof jacket and trousers. Gore-tex or similar

  •  Spare insulating layer

  •  Walking socks

  •  Walking trousers (synthetic materials; jeans or similar are not suitable)

  •  Water bottle or flask

  •  Rucksack 30-40 ltr

  •  Hat & waterproof gloves

  •  Lunch, plus a little spare food

  •  Sunglasses & sun cream (you just never know!)

  •  Waterproof case for phone i.e. zip-lock bag

  •  Personal medications
