Introduction
The Essex coast is a wonderful place for photography from tidal estuaries, wide deserted beaches, big skies, old wrecked boats slowly falling apart and seaside villages. it offers the photographer an amazing variety of locations to practice and perfect both the technical and artistic aspects of photography.
We will cover subjects such as exposure modes, exposure histogram, white balance, exposure compensation, controlling depth of field, creative use of shutter speeds.
We will also look at composition, the use of light and colour and the use of photographic filters.
Any DSLR, bridge or mirrorless camera will be fine for this course.
A tripod would be useful, but don't worry if you don't have a tripod because I have a couple of spares that I can lend out to people.

Why this experience is great for you
- The Essex coast offers the chance to photograph big skies similar to those experienced in Norfolk.
- The peace and tranquility the Essex Coast offers is perfect for landscape photography. From lone to trees to brightly painted beach huts there's something for every photographer to be excited about.
- The variety of locations the Essex coast has on offer really enhances the learning experience because it encourages the use of many different photographic techniques.
- All my photography courses are conducted in a relaxed atmosphere because believe we all learn more when we are having a good time.
- My photography courses have a maximum of five participants which means there is lots of time for individual tuition.
Facilities and additional information
Parking: Parking will be at various car parks depending on the locations for the day. I normally use two to three different locations on a full day course. Some car parks will be pay and display some car parks will be free.
Weather: Extreme storm conditions, for example high winds and driving rain.
Food and Drink: Everyone will need to bring a packed lunch. This allows more time for photography tuition.
Toilets: There will be public toilets at two of the locations used during the day.
Additional info: After the course has been completed a comprehensive set of notes will be emailed to each person. A lot of subjects will be covered during the day and I feel the back-up notes are really important.
