Introduction

You never know when you might find yourself lost or in some kind of emergency situation - this course is specifically designed to provide you with the skills necessary to deal with such a problem. A wide variety of subjects will be covered to heighten your confidence within unfamiliar environments and once the course is completed you will have the knowledge to survive and thrive in the wilderness.

Natural Survivor, East Anglia's leading survival skills provider, will teach you some of the most important and useful aspects of survival. Everything that's covered will increase you chances of preserving life to a much higher level. We will increase your knowledge and understanding of how to prioritise actions in the wilderness, enabling you to function more efficiently. We understand that evaluating your surrounds and situation can be unnerving, especially in an emergency, so we want to improve your confidence in your own decision making and abilities.

Hot food, water and somewhere to sleep are of utmost importance and on the course you will explore different techniques of constructing an effective shelter in order to work and rest. You will learn how to be guided by nature, recognising natural signposts and how to read them.

The skills you will learn on this course have decreased in use over time, but they are deep in our DNA. The knowledge you will gain will be useful in so many situations, whether you are hiking to foreign lands or heading out for some wild camping. Never go out unprepared.

During this course we will cover the following:

  • Safe handling of cutting tools
  • Safe cutting techniques
  • Game preparation (Fish, Rabbit, Pigeon)
  • How to make damper bread
  • Survival shelters
  • Fire lighting techniques
  • Methods of traps and snares
  • Water Preparation
  • Natural navigation
  • Knife sharpening
  • Knife law

Under 18's must be accompanied by a full paying adult.
