Head to the Borders
Arrive at Melrose. Try some of the local produce in one of the myriad cafes before grabbing that special gift from one of the independent shops. 

Revere in the late 1300's archichecture of Melrose Abbey, erected by the River Tweet. Spot the bagpipe playing pig! (The sculpture of course.)

Carry on along the Tweed
Where Tweed and Teviot rivers meet, you can find Kelso, the historical market town. Feel as though you're abroad with its cobbled streets before discovering the abbey ruins and independent shops. 

Floors Castle
The Duke of Roxburgh's awe inspiring stately home sits on the outside of Kelso. Enjoy the walled garden's plethora of flowers and plants. Then find peace strolling through the woodland and river before taking the cab back to Selkirk. 

Selkirk
This burgh lies above the Ettrick and Yarrow valleys. Investigate the narrow braes and wynds and be prepared to be stopped by the views. 

Hawick
Largest of the border towns and known for its knitwear, maybe gift yourself the luxury of a local cashmere sweater. 

See 'The Horse' and understand the symbolic landmarks significance during the annual riding festival.

Glenkinchie distillery
Take a visit to Glenkinchie distillery, the Lowland home of Johnnie Walker.
