Introduction
On the private Graythwaite Estate, enjoy beautiful views of Lake Windermere in the District's only purpose-built odd-road course with British Off Road Driving Association (BORDA). Delivered by our expert team, we welcome first time drivers and seasoned pros alike. Your two hours driving experience comfortably allow the maximum of four adults to share the driving, or allows younger children to enjoy the ride! If you're looking for longer, you can book multiple vehicles for two hours. For bigger parties of 5 or 6, we can offer a 7-seater so ensure you add this comment to the notes section in the booking process and we can assess the right Land Rover to provide.
For us the best 4x4 is only the Land Rover Defender. To quote Land Rover themselves, Off-Road driving is about going ‘as slow as possible and as fast as necessary’, because this is the best fun you will have at 5mph.
It's important to note after recent controversy that our purpose-built private roads allow us to avoid green lanes and carry out the activity in a sustainable way, a course accredited by the British Off Road Driving Association and the IOPD, that is constantly maintained.

Itinerary
On arrival, make use of our free parking before meeting one of the team. After introductions, you'll get into the Land Rover and drive through the Estate to start the course. During this 2 minute drive your instructor will get an idea of any experience you may have, hesitations or apprehensions and wishes for your adventure. Upon reaching the course, your instructor will discuss manual controls, sustainable driving techniques and safety before you sit in the drivers seat. Then, over to you. Your instructor in the passengers seat will help you navigate defying inclines and descents, epic leans and water crossings, with unparalleled views of Lake Windermere.
In the capable hands of a welcoming and friendly team of experts, you'll get to navigate the twists and turns of a purpose-built track!

Facilities and additional information
Equipment needed: Whilst predominantly in the vehicle, we recommend you dress appropriately for the Lake District weather for when changing drivers out on the course.
