Spend a delightful day outside learning an ancient craft as you weave your own gathering basket. The perfect experience to lose yourself in creativity and get back to nature.

Baskets have been around for thousands of years and the generous Willow has offered us an invaluable material to create many a useful shaped vessel over the years, from lobster pots to cradles, panniers to balloon baskets. In fact, before plastic and cardboard nearly everything was transported in a basket - just imagine!

Meet the willow, discover the different types and the process required to bring it into a workable condition.

2 basket designs to choose from. Each style of basket has a basic set design, your basket will become unique by the choices you make from the colour combination of willow available and your control of the depth and curve of the basket as you weave. Your instructor will be on hand at every step to offer guidance.

At lunchtime, you'll have time to take stock, fuel up and rest those hard-working fingers. Your instructor will provide teas and snacks throughout the day to keep you fuelled! Weaving works the brain hard.

More weaving and then - the wonderful moment as we put the border down and add the strap or handle. Behold your new foraging friend!
