At A Glance

Beckingham Marshes is a partnership project with the Environment Agency and a local grazier to create a thriving wet grassland and hay meadow reserve in the Trent Valley. We are bringing back breeding birds such as lapwing and redshank and providing homes for water voles and plentiful insects.

Facilities and additional information

Nature reserve: open daily, at all times.

  • Accessibility: Assistant dogs allowed, Nearest accessible toilets are offsite and not RSPB owned
  • Equipment needed: Weather appropriate clothing
  • Toilets: Toilets are offsite and not RSPB owned
  • Parking : Parking is very limited, careful parking may be possible close to the reserve entrance, but access by large agricultural vehicles is required 24 hours a day. Alternatively, roadside parking is available towards the Beckingham end of Old Trent Road.
