Basingstoke, Hampshire
At A Glance
Basing Wood is bursting with life from broadleaves to conifers, young and old, take whatever direction you feel like. With a plethora of interesting wildlife including the protected great crested newt and an important butterfly habitat for the declining purple emporer, there's lots of things to see. Other wildlife includes fallow, roe, deer, foxes, rabbits and birds. In the winter try the new Christmas trail and join the wildlife on their journey through the forest, learning as you go!
